The Hackathon

Join us on the last weekend in January for the UCL MedTech Society's annual Hackathon. This year we are excited to announce that the event will be held in collaboration with MIT Hacking Medicine.

Over the course of one exciting weekend, people from a range of disciplines will come together in teams to try and solve a real world medical problem.

Hackathons don't need to be intimidating or confusing - here are some frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via the form below!

A hackathon is weekend-long effort to build or invent something awesome as a team.
Successful applicants will be invited, though there are no restrictions on who can apply. You can apply using this form.
Knowledge of coding is not essential. Ideal teams would be made up of participants with a variety of skills. Some additional examples of useful skillsets would be project management, graphics design or engineering knowledge.
No, not at all. You are free to organise with friends beforehand, but there is time specifically dedicated to team formation. You should not begin working on the project before the event however, as this would be an unfair advantage. All work must be done on the weekend.
Yes. These will be revealed at the event, and range from monetary prizes, to support from some of the most skilled MedTech mentors in the industry.
The hackathon is free to attend.
